Planning, programming and budgeting system(PPBS) : Used in the executive branch of the U.S federal
Government. Also put to limited use in some Ministries in India. The budget clearly reflects
the Department's objectives and programmes in fulfilment of these. The output of each programme
has to be calculated in relation to the obejectives and total costs.
